Debian/Ubuntu - Compiz zacina się na GF8600GT

Witam. Aktualnie mam debiana (lenny) i zainstalowane sterowniki nvidii (tyle, że na kernelu 2.6.25-486 gdyż na 686 nie działało w ogóle).

Okazało się, że Compiz Fusion "zacina" przy każdej animacji (obrót kostką, efekty okienek itd).

Identyczny problem mam na Ubuntu (7.10 / 8.04 z domyślnymi kernelami x86_64)

Nie wiem czy wersja sterowników jest istotna (na debianie najnowsze), gdyż na ubuntu miałem 169 i było to samo ( sterowniki z repozytorium).

Tak swoją drogą, nie zamierzam na dłuższą metę korzystać z CF, ale sam fakt tego problemu mnie nie pokoi gdyż 8600gt nie jest chyba aż taką słąbą kartą, zeby nie móc poprawnie go obsłużyć w 1280x1024 (inne rozdzielczości - to samo).

Aplikacje 3D działają w porządku, ale CF niestety, tak więc czy jest jakaś możliwość, aby go zmusić do płynnego działania (na Debianie jak i Ubuntu)

Upewnij się że są sterowniki:

glxinfo | grep direct

Wklej zawartość pliku /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Zainstaluj fusion-icon i ustaw loose-bindings dla compiza.

sposób z fusion icon nie działa.

To samo się działo na ubuntu, ale nie rozumiem tego bo niektórym wszystko działa "out of box" po instalacji sterowników.

Uruchom compiz --replace z konsoli, popracuj trochę i zobacz czy czegoś nie wyrzuca ciekawego (na konsolę)

Apropo's. Jak przesuwam okienko (metacity) to w poziomie (lewo prawo) chodzi płynnie, ale w pionie jakoś "zacina" tak dziwnie skacze jakby bylo przyciągane do jakieś siatki. Z innymi WM'ami opartymi na GTK to samo. Wyjątkiem są kwin z kde3.X i 4.X. Oczywiście z wyłaczonym compizem.

Nie wiem dlaczego ale linux jakoś nie lubi mojego komputera. :smiley:

Compiza sobie już odpuściłem, i tak nie będe go używał na dluższą metę, ale sam fakt problemu mnie nieco drażni (ł).

Nic w tym dziwnego - standardowo metacity korzysta z mocy CPU do rysowania, skalowania, etc. okienek. Procesor niestety to nie karta graficzna, wskutek czego możesz odczuwać zwyczajne "zarywanie". Ciekawostka: możesz ustawić tak, aby metacity korzystał z mocy karty graficznej do rysowania okien - poszperaj w gconf-editor (na razie nie powiem gdzie dokładnie, spróbuj poszukać sam, będzie większa satysfakcja :). Ale... Uprzedzam, że metacity nieźle obciąża GPU (przynajmniej u mnie).
