Q. So - which cards *can* be unlocked?
A. Only NV40, NV48 and NV43 rev A2 cards that have disabled or hardware-locked vertex/pixel pipelines can be unlocked
to better performance in games (and all other programs)
These are 6800 AGP8x, 6800 LE AGP8x, 6800 GS AGP8x, 6800 XT AGP8x, 6800 XE, and 6600 LE (only with NV43 rev A2 chips)
NB!! Newer 6800 plain/LE/GS/XT cards are often made with NV42 chips instead, and therefore, not possible to unlock...

We just have to admit that NVIDIA finally "found" a way to lock the GPU completely in hardware (they design the damn thing, it would actually be strange if they didn't ) and by using that "trick" they are actually producing a different GPU, even though the only difference is some laser cutting on the die before it's packaged.
więc należy się spodziewać, że NVidia nie zrezygnowała z możliwości hardwarowej blokady takich zabaw w późniejszych modelach I jeszcze jeden też wnoszący do tematu
The NV40 based 6800 Ultra PCI-e is the latest moddable card, but since it uses an AGP<->PCI-e bridge chip, although the pro capabilities will be enabled, Windows will still identify the card as a "GeForce 6800 Series". That will make some applications that look for a Quadro ID fail to recognize the card properly (SolidWorks RealView for example).
