Chcę zmienić system Windows XP na Ubuntu (mam wersję 9.10) ale system nie znajduje mojej karty WiFi. Z LANem nie ma problemu. Netbook to ASUS Eee PC 1000HD. Czy wie ktoś co zrobić aby dało się połączyć z siecią bezprzewodową? Czy może w Ubuntu 10.04 wszystko jest w porządku?
Mnie osobiście bardziej by interesowało na jakim czipsecie działa karta w tym netbooku a w specyfikacji technicznej raczej tego nie znajdę, dlatego pokaż wynik polecenia:

Z tego co się orientuję karta to: Atheros AR242x 802.11abg (sterownik ath5k). Przyczyn może być parę, jak i rozwiązań. Możesz też w międzyczasie z kombinować ubuntu 10.04 i sprawdzić na LiveCD czy zadziała.

W ogóle nie widzę karty wifi w wyniku jaki dał lspci -v. Rozumiem, że jest włączona przełącznikiem na obudowie?
Przeładowanie modułu nic nie dało. Dodam jeszcze że niebieska dioda znajdująca się na obudowie, która jest właśnie od WiFi nie świeci się.

Spróbuj włączyć naciskając odpowiedzialny za to przycisk lub FN+ któryś z F-ów z narysowaną antenką
No tak, rzeczywiście, zapomniałem że karta może być przecież wyłączona sprzętowo ale u mnie na przykład, pomimo wyłączenia sprzętowego lspci rozpoznaje kartę. Możesz sprawdzić Ubuntu 10.04, jeśli jest to dość nowy sprzęt to może nowsza wersja jądra już go obsługuje.

Przepraszam, że tak męczę ale mam jeszcze jedno małe pytanie: Czy do karty graficznej zawartej w tym netbooku wystarczą sterowniki w systemie czy lepiej zainstalować jakieś od Intela?
Pytam z tego powodu, ponieważ wydaje mi się że bardziej się grzeje niż jak bym na Windowsie XP.
Wystarczą. innych nawet raczej nie ma. Dla pewności możesz sprawdzić System>Administracja>Sterowniki. Polecam natomiast aktualizację jądra. Dużo poprawili jeśli chodzi o grafikę intela. http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.35.2-maverick/ Z tej strony ściągasz paczki odpowiednie dla Twojej architektury systemu. I instalujesz w kolejności (dla i386):

Mam takie pytanie: Zainstalowałem dzisiaj Ubuntu 10.04 i podczas uruchamiania nie pokazuje się logo z tymi mrugającymi kropeczkami, jedynie pod sam koniec ładowania się systemu pojawia się na sekundę logo i od razu pokazuje się ekran logowania. Jak uruchamiałem system z pendrive’a wszystko było ok. Co może być tego przyczyną?
