x86-64 to nie oznacza CPU 64bitowego. x86-64, albo jak wolisz, EM64T to są instrukcje do procesorów 32 bitowych, które pozwalają na emulację 64 bitów. Odniosę Cię do tego tematu: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_64

Nawiasem powiem, że nieopłacalne jest instalować x64 - wymagają one innych sterowników, a nie każdy producent z czasów zakupu Twojego komputera udostępniał te wersje. Tak więc od siebie zalecam x86 (chyba że masz przynajmniej 4 GB RAM).
