Righty. This is the procedure I used just now:
Boot installer as usual. In my case all.img on a usb stick, netinstall.
As soon as the grapical environment for the installer pops up, switch to
console. Then load pata_marvell module. Continue install as usual, and continue
installing as usual, right up to the screen foir bootloader setup.
Went back to console, and found a populated modprobe.conf in the installed
system. chrooted to /mnt, and added a command "/sbin/modprobe pata_marvell;" to
the end of the line staring with install scsi_hostadapter, right before call to
/bin/true (don't know if placing relevant).
After that regenerated the initrd for the install in /boot:
rm -f /boot/
mkinitrd /boot/ kernel-version
Then finished install - system then booted OK. Adam will polish this and place
