Witam. System mi się co jakiś czas zcina na sekunde, a przy kopiowaniu jakiś większych plików np. filmów strasznie go zamula. Wiesza go co jakiś czas na pare sekund. Dysk według ubuntu jest zdrowy. Sprawdzałem memtestem to nie ma żadnych bad sectorów. Co może być przyczyną?
Czy może być to wina źle rozplanowych partycji?

Jaki masz procek i jaką masz kartę graficzną? Sterowniki do karty zainstalowane?
Poleceniem “top” sprawdź. Najlepiej uruchom je jako root. Zobacz na górze ogólną wartość procentową - zajętość przez system (sy), użytkownika (us), tło (id), odczyt z dysków(wa). Aby rozdzielić widok na każdy rdzeń oddzielnie 1.
Najlepiej pokaż 3-4 screeny z “top” w różnych sytuacjach.

i3-530, grafika zintegrowana, sterowników do niej nie ma. ubuntu 13.10, jadro : 3.11.0-13-generic

Pokaż jak wygląda SMART dysku (DYSK to pewnie sda sdb lub coś w ten deseń).
sudo smartctl -a /dev/DYSK
No ewidentnie wydać, że wait jest dość duże.
A jak kopiujesz coś poza NTFS przez GUI? A jak kopiujesz z konsoli przez “cp źródło cel” np. coś z /home to /tmp?
Możliwe, że tylko coś jest nie tak z modułem do obsługi NTFS.
BTW. Chrome Ci bierze 30% gdy nic specjalnego nie robisz?

Ale kopiowania czego na co i czy przy pomocy konsoli czy GUI? Bo to jest istotne.
Dysk miewał jakieś błędy przy zapisie, ale raczej to nie ma związku z tymi problemami.
Z pamięcią jest ok. część może być zabierana przez grafikę, a część na wirtualizację czy bezpieczeństwo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NX_bit ).

Nie jestem pewny - ale w kernlerze są takie wartości jak np. vfs_cache_pressure czy jakoś tak, gdzie można ustalić procentowo ile RAM przeznaczone jest na cache przy kopiowaniu pliku, może pomóc obniżenie tych wartości.
